Chocolate Chip Cherry Bars

Chocolate Chip Cherry Bars
These ultra tender cherry bars turn out perfectly every single time infused with goodness of fresh seasonal cherry and everything is better with chocolate chips.
Its fast one bowl recipe and no mixture is required!

 Ingredients
1 Cup all purpose flour
1 Cup brown sugar
1/8 Tsp Salt
½ Cup of Salted butter (melted)
1 Large egg (lightly beaten)
2 Tsp good Vanilla extract
¾ Cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 Cup Cherries (Fresh or Frozen)

Method
Prep Time 10 min             Cook Time 30 min
Cooling Time 60 min       Total time 1 Hr 40 min

1.            I don’t have a cherry pitter, so I just slice cherries with a knife, taking out the pit. Make sure cherries are pitted.

2.            Preheat Oven to 180 deg C. Line a 8 x 8 inch pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Spray with cooking oil spray. Set aside.

3.            In a large bowl melt butter for about 60 secs. To melted butter add brown sugar and stir to combine.

4.            Add egg and vanilla, keep stirring to combine. Add flour, salt and stir to just combine. Take care not to over mix batter.
5.            Fold in Chocolate chips and cherries. Pour batter into prepared pan.
.
6.            Bake for 25-30 min or until edges begin to slightly pull away from sides of pan and center is set.
7.            Allow bars to cool at least 60 min before slicing and serving. Do not hurry, otherwise bars may break.

Simple Solutions
-              Bars and blondies can be stored in airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge upto 1 week
-              Can also use a combination of blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.
-              You can use frozen or fresh cherries. If using frozen cherries, add them to batter frozen (do not thaw). Bake these bars little longer.
-              Can be made with dried cherries.
